Arcenio Cobba Balcazar (7 July 1907 – 21 July 2017) was a Peruvian-Italian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography
Arcenio Cobba Balcazar was born in Trujillo, Department of La Libertad, Peru on 7 July 1907. Although he claimed to have been born in 1906, LAS researchers later concluded his birthyear was more likely to be 1907.
At some point in his life, he emigrated to Italy. He ate corn, grain, papaya, and simple cheese. Both parents died at the age of 104 and his brothers surpassed the age of 100.
Cobba Balcazar died in Rome, Lazio, Italy on 21 July 2017 at the age of 110 years, 14 days (claimed 111 years, 14 days). At the time of his death, he was the second-oldest known living man in Italy, behind Valerio Piroddi (1905–2017).
