Armando Alvarino Thomas (5 March 1914 – 27 May 2025) was a Colombian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Armando Alvarino Thomas was born in Rio Viejo, Bolivar, Colombia on 5 March 1914. At a young age, he moved to the municipality of Barrancabermeja. He married Zoraida Sarmiento, and had 11 children. For his career, he worked for the Tropical Oil Company, which was also commonly known as "El Troco".
In March 2024, he celebrated his 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
Armando Alvarino Thomas died in Barrancabermeja, Santander, Colombia on 27 May 2025 at the age of 111 years, 83 days. At the time of his death, he was the second-oldest known (documented) living man and person in Colombia, behind Julio Saldarriaga Hernandez.
