Asher Maclaren Timothy, also known as Uncle Mark (born 28 April 1917) is a Dominican centenarian who is currently the oldest known living person in Dominica, as well as the oldest known man ever from Dominica.

Biography[]

Asher Maclaren Timothy was born in Marigot, Saint Andrew, Dominica, on 28 April 1917, as the second child of Gustavus Timothy and Rebecca Lewis.

In his early 20s, he migrated to Guadeloupe and lived there until 1971, when he returned back to Dominica to work as an overseer at the Melville Hall Estate. He never married or had any children, but the community of Marigot still treasures him as a father figure. He also enjoys playing the guitar.

On 2 November 2022, following the death of 107-year-old Oscar Joseph, he became the oldest known living man in Dominica.

On 22 May 2024, following the death of 110-year-old Anastasie Charles, he became the oldest known living person in Dominica.

On 28 April 2025, he celebrated his 108th birthday, in which he drank wine. When asked about his longevity, he said, as long as he could walk that's how long he would live, and he also stated that his diet consists of everything.

Asher Timothy currently lives in Marigot, Saint Andrew, Dominica, at the age of 108 years, 296 days.
