Atilana Garcia Holgado (5 October 1912 – 17 July 2023) was a Spanish supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2023.
Biography[]
Atilana Garcia Holgado was born in Mayalde, Zamora province, Castile and Leon region, Spain on 5 October 1912.
Garcia Holgado was the eldest of three sisters, the two youngest both deceased. She married Rafael Mesonero and had five children, two of whom died in childhood. She was widowed at age 40 and had to raise her three children, two sons and a daughter, alone.
Her 110th birthday party had to be postponed because she was in the hospital with pneumonia on her birthday.
Atilana Garcia Holgado lived with two of her children in Mayalde, Zamora province, Castile and Leon region, Spain. She died on 17 July 2023 at the age of 110 years, 285 days.
