Atilio Zepeda Navarrete (born 25 November 1913) is a Salvadoran-born American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). If his age is true, he could be the oldest known living Salvadoran-born person and the oldest known living man in the United States since the death of 113-year-old Francis Zouein on 24 January 2024.
Biography[]
Zepeda Navarrete was born on 25 November 1913, in La Paz, El Salvador. His mother passed away during his childhood, and his father died in the 1930s. From the age of seven or eight, he worked on the family farm and also trained and sold horses. Later, he married Roselia, with whom he had seven children. Their marriage lasted 59 years until her passing in 2009.
In 1990, he emigrated to the United States and settled in Palmdale, California, where he lives with his daughter Mariana.
He may have become the oldest known living man born in El Salvador, following the death of 110-year-old Rafael Chinchilla on 30 August 2023.
He may have become the oldest known living man in the United States, following the death of 113-year-old Francis Zouein on 24 January 2024.
Zepeda Navarrete currently lives in Palmdale, California, USA, at the age of 111 years, 53 days.
