Atilio Zepeda Navarrete (25 November 1913 – 28 March 2025) was a Salvadoran-born American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). He may have been the oldest living man in the United States from the death of 110-year-old Otis Randall on 24 December 2023, until his own death on 28 March 2025.
Biography[]
Atilio Zepeda Navarrete was born in La Paz, El Salvador, on 25 November 1913. His mother passed away during his childhood, and his father died in the 1930s. From the age of seven or eight, he worked on the family farm and also trained and sold horses. Later, he married Roselia, with whom he had seven children. Their marriage lasted 59 years until her passing in 2009.
In 1990, he emigrated to the United States and settled in Palmdale, California, where he lived with his daughter Mariana.
On 30 August 2023, following the death of 110-year-old Rafael Chinchilla, he may have become the oldest known living Salvadoran-born man.
On 24 December 2023, following the death of 110-year-old Otis Randall, he may have become the oldest known living man in the United States.
On 4 November 2024, following the death of 111-year-old Josefa Rodriguez Chanta, he may have become the oldest known living Salvadoran-born person.
Atilio Zepeda Navarrete died in Palmdale, California, USA, on 28 March 2025, at the age of 111 years, 123 days.
