Auta Pinto da Silva (28 January 1911 – 6 March 2023) was a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2021. She was the aunt of the councilor Josemar Correa.
Biography[]
Auta Pinto da Silva was born in Iguape, Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 28 January 1911, to parents Anna Catarina Pinto and Antonio do Amaral Pinto.
At some point, she married Antonio Martins Silva, with whom she had 10 children. In 1952, the family moved to Rua do Funil, in the center of the city, where they lived for a short time.
In 1980, she settled in Tucum, in a small village accessible by crossing the Rio Pequeno to reach her residence. She planted rice, cassava, beans, and corn and until she was 104.
In 2017, due to her having age limitations and greater difficulties in crossing the river, the family moved to Retiro.
In January 2021, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
At the time of her 112th birthday in 2023, she still remained in good health and was also lucid. She was cared for by members of her family.
Auta Pinto da Silva died in Iguape, Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 6 March 2023, at the age of 112 years, 37 days.
