Ayako Umeda [Japanese: 梅田綾子] (17 February 1912 – 9 June 2022) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Shiga Prefecture.
Biography[]
Ayako Umeda was born in Japan on 17 February 1912. Following the death of a 110-year-old anonymous woman on 12 February 2022, she became the oldest living person in Shiga Prefecture. In February 2022, she celebrated her 110th birthday.
Umeda died on 9 June 2022 in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture, Japan, at the age of 110 years, 119 days. She was the last living person in Shiga Prefecture who was born during the Meiji era.
