Ayano Aoyama [Japanese: 青山綾野] (18 August 1912 – fl.1 September 2022) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Ayano Aoyama was born in Japan on 18 August 1912. She was a doctor. She began to teach herself music at the age of 50. On her 100th birthday, she managed to sing Caro mi bien and The Last Rose of Summer in their original languages. At the age of 106, she was reported to still be energetic.

At the end of July 2022, Aoyama was tested positive to COVID-19. However, she had successfully recovered by the time of her 110th birthday on 18 August, making her one of the oldest known survivors of the disease.

Ayano Aoyama was last confirmed alive in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan on 1 September 2022, at the age of 110 years, 14 days. In September 2023, she went to limbo, as the oldest living person in Kobe was reported to be 110-year-old Miho Kumagai (born 20 October 1912).
