Barbara Gaukler (13 June 1910 – 19 November 2020), known as Sister Rosalie Gaukler, was an American-born Canadian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Barbara Gaukler was born in Roberts County, South Dakota, USA on 13 June 1910. Her parents were German immigrants Joseph Gaukler and Barbara (née Funk) Gaukler. She had nine siblings: Josephine Gaukler, Julia Reinke, Rose Shaner, Mary Gaukler, Anne Bartlett, Leonard Gaukler, Joseph Gaukler, Stephen Gaukler and Otto Gaukler (who died in infancy).
In 1930, she moved to Red Deer, Alberta, Canada along with her family. There she was introduced to the Daughters of Wisdom. She entered the Congregation and made a religious profession on 2 February 1940 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Barbara Gaukler died in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada on 19 November 2020 at the age of 110 years, 159 days. She was survived by three nieces, Joanne Stafford of Red Deer, Alberta, and Lois Moen and Renae Gabel, both in the USA.
