Beatrice Lawson (née Reid; 23 December 1899 – 24 October 2011) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest resident living in Rhode Island.
Biography[]
Beatrice Lawson was born in Boston, Massachusetts, USA on 23 December 1899. Her parents were Prince Reid and Cornelia (née Nichols) Reid.
She married Arthur L. Lawson and had five children: Emogene Smith (1924–2012), Josephine Lawson (c.1928–1946), Richard Lawson (born c.1931), Althea Gonzalez (born c.1933), Theresa Burton (born November 1936), and Alice Page (born c.1939).
She was an active and the oldest member of the Cathedral of St. John's in Providence and a member of ECW at the church.
Her cousin Josephine Worrell (1912–2020) lived to be almost 108 years.
Beatrice Lawson died at Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, USA on 24 October 2011 at the age of 111 years, 305 days. At the time of her death, she had four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 30 great-great-grandchildren.
