Berthe Budet (née Brigida Sales Exposito; 3 October 1909 – 10 October 2021) was a Spanish-born French supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography

Berthe Budet was born as Brigida Sales Exposito in Sarratella, Castellon, Valencian Community, Spain, on 3 October 1909. In 1911, she moved to Cevennes, France with her parents. Her parents were Bautista Sales y Roda (1876–1937) and Francisca Eusebia Exposito (1878–1937). She had at least 3 siblings, Francisco Benjamin (1902–1984), Rosario (1904–?) and Alfred (1907–?).

On 4 July 1936, she married Aime Gaston Budet (1906–1986) in Monoblet, Gard, France. They had at least one son, Francis (aged 92 in 2019). She celebrated her 110th birthday in October 2019.

Berthe Budet died in Aramon, Gard, Occitanie, France on 10 October 2021 at the age of 112 years, 7 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living Spanish-born woman, the second-oldest living person in Occitanie behind Jeanne Chabbert, and the oldest living person in Gard departement.
