Bessie Viar (née Sublett; 22 March 1881 – 16 February 1992) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Bessie was born as Betsy Watkins Sublett in Buffalo, Prince Edward, Virginia, USA, on 22 March 1881. She was the daughter of Benjamin and Willie Harvey Sublett. She married Thomas Viar in Lynchburg, Campbell, Virginia on 25 November 1903. The couple had nine children together. She was widowed in 1931. Bessie Viar died in Monroe, Amherst, Virginia, USA, on 16 February 1992, aged 110 years, 331 days.
