Carmen Atencio (25 July 1901? – 10 June 2014) was a Colombian supercentenarian claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Carmen Atencio claimed to have been born in a Wayuu ''rancheria'' (village) in La Uribia, La Guajira, Colombia on 25 July 1901. She was of Wayuu ethnicity and never learnt Spanish. In July 2011, she celebrated her claimed 110th birthday.
Carmen Atencio died in Maicao, La Guajira, Colombia on 10 June 2014 at the claimed age of 112 years, 320 days.
