Carmen Socorro Pacheco viuda de Carrasco (26 November 1901 – 16 January 2013) was a Venezuelan supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Carmen Pacheco de Carrasco was born in Siquisique, Urdaneta Municipality, Lara, Venezuela on 26 November 1901, the oldest of seven children of Rufo Socorro Pacheco Melendez and Benicia Angelica Rodriguez Salas de Pacheco.

She lived her first years of life with her uncle Delfin Rodriguez, her aunt Elvira Salas Jimenez de Rodriguez, and her maternal grandmother Maria del Rosario Salas de Rodriguez.

She moved to Aguada Grande, Urdaneta Municipality, Lara, and later to Urucure, Lara to live with her aunt Sulpicia Rodriguez de Ollarves. After the death of her mother, her father taked her to live in Baragua with her siblings.

She married Eliseo Carrasco in Baragua on 21 July 1921. The couple had six children: Dario Jose, Victor Jose, Carmen Lourdes, Auxiliadora Lucia, Eliseo Jose, and Egilda Graciela. Her husband died on 3 June 1937. After her husband's death, she raised the children alone.

At the age of 109, she had five generations of descendents. In November 2011, she celebrated her 110th birthday.

Pacheco de Carrasco died in Barquisimeto, Lara, Venezuela on 16 January 2013 at the age of 111 years, 51 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Venezuela.
