Caroline Pullar (née Belavic; 9 November 1908 – 6 February 2019) was a Croatian-born American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Caroline Pullar was born in Duga Resa, Karlovac County, Austria-Hungary (present-day Croatia) on 9 November 1908 (claimed 1907). She immigrated to the United States with her parents, George and Kata Belavic. Caroline was married to Mark Pullar in 1925, they lived in the Collinwood area of Cleveland and raised two children together. They were married for 50 years before his passing in 1976. Caroline lived in their home until 2012 when she moved to Salida Woods.
Pullar loved caring for her home, her vegetable garden and her family. Pullar was survived by her son, Albert (Gerry), brother, Andrew (Patricia, deceased) Belavic, three grandchildren, Nancy (Patrick) McKinley, Michael Pullar, Jeffrey (Renee) Pullar and six great-grandchildren, Matthew (Carly) Pullar, Mark (Amy) Pullar, Adam Pullar, Ashley (Jerry) Pierce, Scott Pullar, Erin (Michael) Ezzo, five great-great-grandchildren, Charlie Pullar, Jane Pullar, Caroline Ezzo, Maggie Pullar, Danny Pullar, and a sixth on the way. Also, many nieces and nephews. Pullar was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents, her sister, Ann and her daughter, Catherine (Edward) Meglic.
Caroline Pullar died in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA on 6 February 2019 at the age of 110 years, 89 days.
