Celina Fernandez Solorzano de Pacheco (22 January 1906 – 16 October 2016) was a Costa Rican supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Celina was born in Alajuela, Costa Rica on 22 January 1906 to Benjamin Fernandez and Maria Luisa Solorzano. Her birth name was Maria Celina de Jesus Fernandez Solorzano.
In 1928, she married Antonio Pacheco Perez (1901–1999). They had three children: Oscar (1929–2002), Maria Cecilia (1931–2014) and Francisco Antonio (born 1940). She worked as a teacher.
Her sister-in-law Maria Julia Pacheco Perez (1910–2017) lived to be 106, who was a sister of her husband.
On her 109th birthday, she was able to walk with the help of a walker. Her daughter, Cecilia, died two months prior to Celina's 109th birthday. In February 2016 at the age of 110, she voted in the Costa Rican municipal elections.
Fernandez Solorzano de Pacheco died at her home in Alajuela, Costa Rica on 16 October 2016 at the age of 110 years, 268 days.
