Yefim Haim "Chaim" Goldberg (15 March 1914 – 12 April 2020) was an Belarusian-Russian centenarian was one of the oldest victims of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Biography[]
Chaim Goldberg was born in Russian Empire (now Belarus) on 15 March 1914.
He served in the Russian army for several years and then began studying history at a university in Moscow, but his studies were cut short because of World War II.
After the end of the World War II, he joined Russia’s Far Eastern Shipping Company and became a sailor. He sailed for 25 years.
Chaim Goldberg died from complications of COVID-19 in Vladivostok, Russia on 12 April 2020 at the age of 106 years, 28 days.
