Chie Kanna (Japanese: 漢那チエ; 11 October 1904 – February/March 2015) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Kanna was born on the Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, on 11 October 1904. She lived in Tokyo before World War II. Her husband died in World War II so she had to raise their 5 children on her own. They had one son and four daughters. After the war, she came to Shiroi. She lived with her youngest daughter, Junko Miyara, for 25 years. At the age of 90, patchwork became her hobby. She lived in Minamiyama, Shiroi. At the age of 109, she had 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Kanna died at the "Care Group Ai Ai" day-care facility (Japanese: ケアグループあい・あい) in Shiroi, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, between February and March 2015, at the age of 110 years, 113-171 days.
