Chiyo Shiraishi (6 August 1895 – 19 November 2009) was a validated Japanese supercentenarian. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest living person in Japan, behind Kama Chinen.
Biography
Shiraishi was born in Fukushima, Japan. She married at the age of 19, and had six children. Shiraishi later moved to Hitachiota in Ibaraki prefecture, where she died on 19 November 2009, at the age of 114 years, 105 days[1].
Shiraishi currently holds the record as the oldest validated person ever born in Fukushima Prefecture and the 2nd oldest validated person ever who died in Ibaraki Prefecture after Ina Okizawa.
