Clara Golden Eddy (née Lowe; 3 October 1905 – 22 July 2015) was an American centenarian.

Biography[]

Clara Eddy was born as Clara Lowe in Fulton, Illinois, USA on 3 October 1905, the daughter of Allen Lowe (1863–1907) and Etta Lowe (née Frampton; 1867–1957). Her father died when she was young. She had 11 siblings. She had married William R. Cook, with whom she had three children and all have preceded her in death.

There was also a history of longevity in her family: her paternal grandfather John Thomas Lowe (1826–1929) lived to 103, her mother lived to 90, her sister Sadie "Grace" (1885–1977) lived to 91/92, her brother William (1888–1974) lived to 85/86, her sister Bertha (1890–1981) lived to 90/91, her brother Samuel "Tom" (1892–1994) lived to 101/102, her sister Lola "Maudie" (1898–1986) lived to 87/88, her sister Ora (1903–1995) lived to 91/92, and her brother Lester "Ernest" (1907–2009) lived to 101.

Eddy died in Peoria, Illinois on 22 July 2015 at the age of 109 years, 292 days. She was survived by her nephews and nieces, great-nephews and nieces, great-great-nephews and nieces, and great-great-great-nephews and nieces.
