Clara Huhn (née Herling; 28 January 1887 – 20 December 2000) was a validated American supercentenarian.

Biography[]

Clara Huhn was born as Clara Herling in a home near Clarkson, Colfax County, Nebraska on 28 January 1887. Her parents were J. Henry Herling and Kathrine Meusborn. She worked as a homemaker. She married John F Huhn in 1916 and they had three children. She lived near Schuyler for most of her life. She lived on her own in North Park until she was 103. She remained active, healthy and independent until the last few months of her life, and even answered an interview just before her 113th birthday in 2000.

Clara Huhn died in La Mesa, California, USA, on 20 December 2000 at the age of 113 years, 327 days. She held the record as the oldest validated person ever born in Nebraska, until Thelma Sutcliffe surpassed her age on 24 August 2020.

The title of the oldest person on record to die in Nebraska belongs to Helen Stetter, who died on 1 June 2007, at the age of 113 years, 195 days.
