Clarice Patterson (29 December 1912 - 28 May 2024) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Clarice Patterson was born at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, USA on 29 December 1912.
After graduating from Frederick Douglass High School and Morgan State University, Patterson earned a degree in business. She worked for the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks as a director of the Cahill Recreational Center until she retired in 1983.
At the age of 100, Patterson was diagnosed with dementia, but was still able to dance as of her 105th birthday in 2017.
In December 2022, Patterson celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian. Her family attributes her longevity to not drinking alcohol and having a healthy diet.
At the age of 110, Patterson often liked to relax on her chair and do leg exercises while she sits. She liked eating cookies and drinking tea. She had three children, three granddaughters, and a few great-grandchildren.
Clarice Patterson lived at her home in West Baltimore, Maryland, USA,died at the age of 110 years, 151 days. She was the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Maryland since the death of 112-year-old Aline Miles on 23 April 2024.
