Cloa Elizabeth Gragg (née Brown; 1 June 1903 – 2 February 2014) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was one of the oldest known people in the US state of Tennessee at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Cloa Gragg was born in Putnam County, Tennessee, USA on 1 June 1903. Her parents were William "Bill" Brown (1879–1927) and Martha "Mattie" (née Carr) Brown (1885–1982). She had five siblings.
She married Robert Gragg in 1922. The couple had three children: J.B. Gragg (1923–2005), Billy T. Gragg (deceased) and Arnold Allison Gragg. She was widowed in 1958.
One of her cousins Sallie Dennis (1902–2002) lived to be 100.
Gragg's age was verified by Anson Davis, Mark Muir, Oliver Trim, and Waclaw Jan Kroczek, and (posthumously) validated by the GRG on 1 June 2015.
Cloa Gragg died in Lebanon, Tennessee, USA on 2 February 2014 at the age of 110 years, 246 days. She is survived by one son Arnold Allison Gragg, two daughters-in-law Doris Gragg and Margaret Gragg; 7 grandchildren Angie Russell, Sandy Jones, Loyce Buckner, Kelly Farmer, Reagan Gragg, Barbara Gragg, and Judy Arena; 9 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
