Concepcion Pichel Sampayo [Spanish: Concepción] (11 May 1908 – 27 November 2018) was a Spanish supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2020.
Biography
Concepcion Pichel Sampayo was born in Lalin, Galicia, Spain on 11 May 1908.
Concepcion married Rogelio Garcia, who died several years ago. The couple had seven children. When her husband died she moved to Silleda, Galicia, Spain in the company of one of her daughters and a caregiver. She had also 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Concepcion was forced to move on a wheelchair, following a fall at the end of 2015, in which a hip broke.
Pichel Sampayo died on 27 November 2018 at the age of 110 years, 200 days.
