Danica Borozan [Montenegrin; Даница Борозан] (15 May 1918 – 23 June 2023) was a Montenegrin centenarian who was the oldest known living person in Montenegro at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Danica Borozan was born in the village of Bokovo, Cetinje, Montenegro on 15 May 1918. Her mother died when she was six months old, she remembered her father, but she lost him when she was six years old.
After colonization in 1946, she moved to Lovcenac near Mali Idjos, North Backa District, Serbia, from where she soon moved to Novi Sad, Serbia, where she got a job in a tobacco factory and where she worked for 20 years. She returned to Montenegro and spent her retirement days working at the Brezovik hospital. Although her life's journey took her in different directions, she looked forward to returning to her native Cetinje.
She became the oldest known living person in Montenegro, following the death of 106-year-old Mileva Tomovic on 14 March 2023.
Danica Borozan died in the Old People's Home in Bijelo Polje, Montenegro on 23 June 2023 at the age of 105 years, 39 days. She was buried in her native village of Bokovo near Cetinje.
