Daniela Lopez de Lacalle Saenz (11 December 1909 – 13 December 2020) was a Spanish supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2020.
Biography[]
Lopez de Lacalle was born in the municipality of Apellaniz, Arraia-Maeztu, Alava, Basque Country, Spain, on 11 December 1909. She lived in Apellaniz until her 60s. Her husband died in 1972. Shortly after, she moved to Zaramaga, Vitoria, Alava.
Until the age of 101, she lived alone and went to a club for the elderly to play cards, sing and dance. She had a heart attack in her centenarian years. At the age of 109, she lived with her daughter, Conchi. At that time, she had 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Lopez de Lacalle died in Vitoria, Alava, Basque Country, Spain at the age of 111 years, 2 days.
