Deolinda Nazare d'Almeida [Portuguese: Nazaré] (20 February 1913 – 12 October 2023) was a Portuguese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Deolinda Nazare d'Almeida was born in Santa Isabel, Lisbon, Lisbon District, Portugal on 20 February 1913.

She married Manuel Morais, in Minho. Later, they moved to Lisbon, where she worked as a dressmaker.

In 1945, Deolinda, her husband and their daughter moved to Espinho. Deolinda's son was born in Espinho. There, she taught sewing classes and was also a seamstress.

She became a widow in 1973. She enjoyed watching the football games every Sunday and bought and read the newspaper every day.

She moved to the nursing home "Santa Casa da Misericordia de Espinho", in Espinho, Aveiro District, Portugal, in 2005, where she currently lives.

She was the oldest known living person from Aveiro District, following the death of 109-year-old Alberto Andrade on 8 October 2021.

Deolinda Nazare d'Almeida died in Espinho, Aveiro District, Portugal on 12 October 2023 at the age of 110 years, 234 days. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest known living person from Portugal, behind Maria da Conceicao Brito.
