Deolira Gliceria Pedro da Silva (born 10 March 1905) is a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age is currently pending validation by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). Her age is currently unvalidated by the Guinness World Records (GWR). If validated, she would be the second-oldest person in recorded history, after Jeanne Calment, the second person in history to reach the age of 120, as well as the oldest South American person ever (being older than Francisca Celsa dos Santos). She would also be the first South American person to reach the ages of 117, 118, 119, and 120, the last surviving person born in 1905, as well as the oldest living person in the world since the death of 118-year-old Lucile Randon of France on 17 January 2023.

Biography

Deolira Gliceria Pedro da Silva was born on 10 March 1905 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Pedro da Silva never married, although she had eight children (five living as of March 2025). One of her daughters is still alive at the age of 90.

On 10 March 2015, Pedro da Silva celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

At the time of her 119th birthday in 2024, Pedro da Silva was said to be a great-great grandmother.

On 5 October 2021, following the death of Francisca Celsa dos Santos, Pedro da Silva may have become the oldest living person in Brazil and South America.

On 23 January 2022, following the death of 116-year-old Antonia da Santa Cruz, Pedro da Silva may have become the last known surviving person born in 1905.

On 23 February 2022, Pedro da Silva may have surpassed the age of Francisca Celsa dos Santos, becoming the oldest person ever from Brazil and South America.

On 17 January 2023, following the death of 118-year-old Lucile Randon of France, Pedro da Silva may have become the oldest living person in the world.

On 10 March 2023, Pedro da Silva celebrated her 118th birthday, possibly becoming the fith person in history to reach this age.

On 10 March 2024, Pedro da Silva celebrated her 119th birthday, possibly becoming the fourth person in history to reach this age.

On 10 March 2025, Pedro da Silva celebrated her 120th birthday, possibly becoming the second person in history to reach this age and the first to do so since Jeanne Calment in 1995.

If Pedro da Silva’s age is correct, she would have outlived everyone born in 1906, 1907, and 1908.

On 18 November 2025, the Gerontology Research Group announced on the World Supercentenarian Forum that Pedro da Silva had been given the pending status.
