Desolina Fanti-Zirri (née Fanti; 31 May 1907 – 18 September 2017) was a French-Italian supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2020. At the time of her death, she was the 11th-oldest known person in Italy.

Biography

Desolina Fanti was born in Nogent-l'Artaud, Aisne, Hauts-de-France, France on 31 May 1907. She moved to Italy with her family when she was a child. For many years she lived in Mattaleto (Langhirano), and then moved to Parma. As a young housewife, she worked as a servant for several families.

She later married a man with the surname Zirri. The couple had a daughter: Maria Luisa.

Throughout her life, Desolina had a passion for football, and attended games at the Stadio Ennio Tardini for over 90 years. Her favourite colour was pink, she loved to play bingo, and also read the Gazzetta di Parma every morning as of her 108th birthday in 2015.

Fanti died in Parma, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, on 18 September 2017 at the age of 110 years, 110 days.
