Dora W. Smith (15 June 1913 – 14 June 2024) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Dora Smith was born in Live Oak, Florida, USA on 15 June 1913. In the late 1970s, she moved to Taylor County. Around 1978, her daughter died.
On 6 July 2020, the Taylor County Board of County Commissioners issued a proclamation congratulating Smith on celebrating her 107th birthday.
At the age of 107, Smith was reported to be devoutly religious and an active member of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
In June 2023, Smith celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming a supercentenarian.
Dora Smith died in Perry, Taylor County, Florida, USA on 14 June 2024 at the age of 110 years, 365 days. At the time of her death, she was the second-oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Florida, behind Anna Natella.
