Doris Amelia Veale (19 January 1911 – 30 May 2021) was a British supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2024.
Biography[]
Doris Veale was born in Kensington, London, England, UK on 19 January 1911. She left school at the age of 14.
She married Harold Veale in 1932. They not had children. She worked as a office worker during the Second World War. The couple moved to Gidea Park, London around 1958. She got widowed around 1990.
She was a member of the Squirrel’s Heath Floral Art Club for more than 30 years and involved with the townswomen’s guild movement for about six years.
She had numerous nieces and nephews (including Sylvia Towler (aged 75 in January 2014). In January 2021, she celebrated her 110th birthday.
Veale died in Romford, London, England, UK on 30 May 2021 at the age of 110 years, 131 days.
