Dorothy May "Dot" Vine (née Bucknell; 16 April 1915 – c.10 April 2025) was a Fijian-born Australian centenarian who at the time of her death was the oldest known Fijian-born woman and oldest living Fijian woman ever.

Biography[]

Dorothy Vine was born as Dorothy May Bucknell on 16 April 1915 on Koro Levu Island, Fiji. Her parents were Charles Julian and Edith Maud (nee Bishop) Bucknell. The Family later moved to Australia. Dorothy married George Edward Charles Vine in West Wyalong, New South Wales on 10 April 1940. She was widowed on August 16 1969. In her final years, she lived in a care facility in New South Wales.

Dorothy Vine died overnight 9th/10th April 2025 in New South Wales, Australia, six days before her 110th birthday at the age 109 years, c.359 days. At the time of her death she was the oldest known Fijian woman ever and the third-oldest living person in New South Wales, after Ken Weeks and Gizella Simon.
