Ebe Tosi (14 July 1913 – 5 February 2025) was an Italian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Ebe Tosi was born in Ferrara, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, on 14 July 1913 (claimed 11 July). As a young woman, she worked at UPIM, a chain of department stores specializing in fashion and decor.

Tosi was married twice, but had no children. Following the death of her first husband, she moved to Genoa, Liguria, where she has lived for more than 80 years. In 1946, she voted for Italy to become a republic.

At the age of 105, Tosi moved into a nursing home in Genoa. She had been described by the staff as a very cheerful and energetic woman.

Tosi was very religious. She attended church services regularly until the COVID-19 pandemic, during which she would watch services on the television. She also enjoys watching football.

Tosi sticked to a routine of having light meals with a glass of wine. She had never smoked her entire life, and she also only took a few medications. She woke up around 7:00 a.m. everyday.

On 11 July 2023, Tosi celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.

Tosi's age was verified by an anonymous person and Alfredo Nocera, and validated by the GRG on 7 January 2024.

Ebe Tosi died in Genoa, Liguria, Italy, on 5 February 2025 at the age of 111 years, 206 days. She was the oldest known living person in Liguria at the time of her death.
