Edith Vonia Archer (née Matchett; 25 November 1889 – 11 April 2001) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group.
Biography[]
Edith Vonia Archer was born as Edith Vonia Matchett in Darke County, Ohio, USA on 25 November 1889, the daughter of Alonzo Matchett and Zelinda (née Rogers) Matchett.
She married Samuel Joseph "Joe" Archer in 1910. The couple had two children: Melva Archer (1922–1922), and James "Jim" Archer (1925–2017). Her husband died in 1960.
Archer died in New Castle, Indiana, USA on 11 April 2001 at the age of 111 years, 137 days. At the time of her death, she had four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
