Dr. Edith Kaufmann (12 December 1903 – 7 October 2015) was a validated Czech-British supercentenarian.
Biography[]
Edith Helene Kaufmann was born in Teschen, Austria-Hungary (now Decin, Czech Republic) on 12 December 1903. In her early childhood, she migrated with her family to Vienna.
In 1931, she married Paul Kaufmann and would later obtain the doctoral degree in art history. Thereafter, the family would move to London.
In 2013, Dr. Kaufmann celebrated her 110th birthday. She died on 7 October 2015, aged 111 years, 299 days.
At the time of her passing, she was the second-oldest living person in the United Kingdom, behind Gladys Hooper.
