Edith Taylor nee Hollingsworth (1 May 1894 - 20 June 2005) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Edith Taylor was born as Edith Hollingsworth in Moorefield, Hardy, West Virginia, USA on 1 May 1894. Her parents were Howard Hollingsworth and Bertha Willis. She married Jacob Denward Taylor on 5th November 1912 at 18. At some point in her later adult life, Edith moved to Maryland, USA. She spent the last five years of her life at the Allegany County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Edith Taylor died in Cumberland, Allegany, Maryland, USA on 20 June 2005 at the age of 111 years, 50 days. At the time of her death Edith Taylor was the oldest living resident of Maryland and one of the oldest living people in the United States. She had 12 children, 23 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 75 great-great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-great-grandchildren.
