Edna Lawler (née Lemna; 13 January 1904 – 31 January 2016) was a verified American supercentenarian.
Biography[]
She was born in Goodland, Indiana, USA on 13 January 1904 as the daughter of August and Philomene (née Dionne) Lemna. Her father was a farmer and she was oldest of six children.
She grew up on a farm in Beaverville, Illinois. Her education started in a one-room schoolhouse and stopped after the first year of high school so that she could help out at the family farm.
She left the family farm in order to work as a household lady in Kankakee. There she met her future husband, John Lawler. They married at the St. Mary’s Church in 1934. Thereafter, they moved to Harvey, Illinois. The couple had four children: Jean, Marilyn, Connie, and Irma.
Lawler died in Tinley Park, Illinois, USA on 31 January 2016 at the age of 112 years, 18 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest known Illinoisan.
