Edna Mae McCabe (née Dawson; 22 November 1910 – 1 December 2020) was an American supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2023.
Biography[]
Edna McCabe was born as Edna Mae Dawson in Guilford, Connecticut, USA on 22 November 1910. She grew up in New Haven, Connecticut, USA. She married Eugene McCabe on 17 April 1929. They had three children. Her husband died in December 1980, after 51 years of marriage.
As of July 2017, McCabe had eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren (including Joy Gary), and five great-great-grandchildren.
In November 2020, McCabe celebrated her 110th birthday.
McCabe lived at the Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Hamden, Connecticut, USA, where she died on 1 December 2020, at the age of 110 years, 9 days.
