Effie Daisy Lee Burress (née Bridges; 12 April 1881 – 19 December 1991) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
She was born in Brevard, Transylvania, North Carolina, USA on 12 April 1881 as the daughter of Thomas and Mary Harris Bridges.
She married Bolling Burress in Haywood, North Carolina, USA on 25 December 1914. The couple had two daughters, Edna and Frances. The couple celebrated 69 anniveraries before Effie was widowed in 1984.
Effie Burress died in Hazlewood, Haywood, North Carolina, USA on 19 December 1991, aged 110 years, 251 days. Her daughter, Edna Mae Burress (1919–2019) lived to be 100.
