Efigenia Cal (née Sub; born 21 September 1929; claims 1915) is a Belizean supercentenarian claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Efigenia Cal was born on 21 September 1929 (claims 1915) in San Antonio Town, Toledo District, British Honduras (present-day Belize) to Catalina Cal (née Sub). She married at the age of 15 and raised nine children. Her husband, Emiliano Cal, passed away at the age of 35.

Efigenia Cal enjoys foods like callaloo, spinach, beets, and sweet potatoes.

In September 2024, Efigenia Cal celebrated her 95th birthday (claimed 109th). At that time, she was still leading an independent life, managing daily activities such as eating and bathing on her own. She resided with her granddaughter, Maria Carrillo, and occasionally assisted in the family business, selling corn and tamalitos. Despite experiencing occasional pain in her knees and legs, she maintained a strong will and faith.

On 14 September 2025, Efigenia Cal participated to a patriotic event in Orange Walk, at the same time she was greeted with happy birthday.

Efigenia Cal currently lives with her youngest son in Orange Walk Town, Orange Walk District, Belize at the age of 96 years, 54 days (claimed 110 years, 54 days).
