Egidijo "Egidije" Roko Baldo Foretić (10 July 1903 – 6 April 2008) was a Croatian centenarian who was the oldest known living man in Croatia at the time of his death.
Biography[]
Egidije Foretić was born in Orebić, Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Austria-Hungary (present-day Croatia) on 10 July 1903. His parents were Jure Petar Ante Foretić (1866–1941) and Ana Foretić (née Nesanović; 1880–1924).
He became the oldest known living man in Croatia, following the death of 107-year-old Ivan Jaklic on 21 January 2007.
Egidije Foretić died in Orebić, Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Croatia on 6 April 2008 at the age of 104 years, 271 days. Following his death, then 103-year-old Franjo Horvat became the oldest known living man in Croatia and Samuel Bistirlich of United States (who was a few days older than Horvat) became the oldest known Croatian-born man.
