Biography[]

Ekaterini Zacharopoulos was born in Potamia, Central Greece on 19 February 1897. She married Giorgios Zacharopoulos and had 3 children, including James (1926-2006) who lived in USA. In some point of her life Ekaterina moved to Athens, Attica.

She became the oldest living person in Balkans since death of Luca Bulic from Bosnia and Herzegovina on 3 July 2005.

Ekaterini Zacharopoulos died on 9 February 2007 aged 109 years, 355 days, just 10 days shy of her 110th birthday.
