Elena Torres Ospino (17 October 1908 – 18 February 2020) was a Colombian supercentenarian whose age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in 2022.
Biography[]
Torres Ospino was born in El Carmen de Bolivar, Bolivar, Colombia, on 17 October 1908. She was daughter of Manuel Torres and Josefa Ospino. Her ''husband'' (she never officially married him) was Marcial Acuna, and she had a daughter with him, Rosalina, who was born in 1934. She became a supercentenarian in October 2018. She was grandmother of a locally-known cumbia musician, Gerardo Antonio Varela.
Torres Ospino died in Cartagena, Bolivar, Colombia, on 18 February 2020, at the age of 111 years, 124 days.
