Eleni Michael Tanousi Kamilari (1 January 1903 – 24 May 2011) was a centenarian from Cyprus who was the oldest known living person in Cyprus at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Eleni Tanousi was born in Agia Marina Skyllouras, in the north of Cyprus on 1 January 1903. She moved to the Kotsiati Community after the Turkish Invasion, with most of her relatives originating from the same place. She was married to Michael Tanousis, who died in 1960.
Tanousi died in Cyprus on 24 May 2011 at the age of 108 years, 143 days. She had 8 children, 40 grandchildren, 90 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren. Tanousi was the oldest known person ever from Cyprus until Milia Paidiou surpassed her age on 24 March 2021.
