Elisabeth Kimoff (née Ezev; 20 November 1904 – 15 October 2015) was a Macedonian-born Canadian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She is currently the oldest person ever born in present-day North Macedonia.

Biography

Elisabeth Kimoff was born in the village Kolešino, municipality of Novo Selo, Otoman Empire (present-day North Macedonia) on 20 November 1904. Her parents were Andon Ezev, and Guna Terstanova Ezev. She had at least two sisters, Maria, and Frossa, as well as two brothers, Kosta and Ivan. In 1923, at the age of 18, she moved to Canada, together with her one sister and brother. After settling in Toronto and becoming part of the growing Macedonian community, her first job was working as a finisher of men's suits. These were difficult times, with many cultural adjustments and a steep language barrier.

On 2 October 1926, at the age of 21, in Toronto, she married Slavcho Kimoff (1898–1977), and together they had three sons, Richard (1928–2023), Robert (1932–2003), and William (1937–2008). Her husband, Slavcho, died in 1977, after 50 years of marriage.

On 9 March 2013, following the death of 110-year-old Karavilka Petrović of the United States, she became the oldest living Macedonian-born person in the world.

On 20 November 2014, she celebrated her 110th birthday, becoming a supercentenarian.

On 15 August 2015, at the age of 110 years, 268 days, she surpassed the final age of Karavilka Petrović (1902–2013) of the United States, of 110 years, 267 days, becoming the oldest person ever born in present-day North Macedonia.

Elisabeth Kimoff died in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on 15 October 2015, at the age of 110 years, 329 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Toronto, and the second-oldest living person in the province of Ontario (behind 111-year-old Marguerite Wabano, who died less than a month later), as well as the third oldest known living person in Canada, behind 111-year-old Marguerite Wabano, and then 111-year-old Lilian Cornell. Her eldest and the last surviving son, Dr. Richard Kimoff, died on 16 April 2023, at the age of 94.
