Elizabeth Delaney (12 March 1903 – 14 October 2014) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known person in Sarasota, Florida.
Biography[]
Delaney was born to Irish immigrants in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, on 12 March 1903. She later married and had a daughter, Rose (married Jones) in 1922. At the time of her 111th birthday in 2014, she lived at home with her daughter, her grandson John, and two cats. She was wheelchair-bound, and her eyesight and hearing had deteriorated. She spent three days a week at the local Senior Friendship Center.
Delaney died in Sarasota, Florida, United States, on 14 October 2014 at the age of 111 years, 214 days.
