Elizabeth "Lizzy" Dempsey (23 June 1910 – 13 May 2018) was an Irish centenarian who has been the oldest known person in Ireland since the death of Dorothea Findlater on 20 November 2017.

Biography

Elizabeth Dempsey was born in County Dublin, Ireland (then part of the UK), on 23 June 1910. She was raised in Dublin and her family were living on Mespil Road during the 1916 Rising. She recalled how they were warned to stay away from the windows as the soldiers were on the bridge. She also remembered England having a lot of soldiers in Ireland during WW1.

Elizabeth Dempsey died at Ailesbury Nursing Home in Dublin, Ireland, UK, on 13 May 2018, at the age of 107 years, 324 days.
