Elizabeth Watkins (10 March 1863 – 31 October 1973) was a British supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Elizabeth Watkins was born in the Northern Ireland, UK on 10 March 1863. She was considered by Guinness World Records to be the world's oldest person in 1973, following the death of Alice Stevenson on 18 August 1973. She kept the title for about 2½ months before passing away. She resided in Belfast City Hospital from the age of 94 and by 1973 was reported to be "stone deaf".
Elizabeth Watkins died on 31 October 1973 at the age of 110 years, 235 days.
Watkins has been disputed by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) in "Table C" since 22 April 2018.
