Ellenor "Ella" Miller (née Galbraith; 6 December 1884 – 21 November 2000) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Ella Miller was born as Ellenor "Ella" Galbraith on 6 December 1884 (claimed 1880) in Mooresburg, Hawkins County, Tennessee, USA as the daughter of Nick and Clara Kyle Galbraith. She grew up in Hawkins and worked as a servant before coming to Ohio in the early 1900s. She married Isaac Miller in Hamilton, Ohio on 5 November 1908. The couple had no children. Isaac died in 1936.
Ella resided in Hamilton and worked as a servant until 1987, after which she retired and moved to Vienna, Fairfax, Virginia.
Ella Miller died in Vienna, Fairfax County, Virginia on 21 November 2000, at the age of 115 years, 351 days. She was survived by 25 grandnieces and nephews and 51 great-grandnieces and nephews.

On 16 August 1998, she became the oldest living African-American person after the death of Bettie Chatmon aged 114.
On 20 November 1999, she became the last survivor born in 1884 after the death of the British Annie Jennings aged 115.
On 30 December 1999, Miller aged 115 years, 24 days became the oldest living person in the world after the death of the American Sarah Knauss who was 119[1]. She's therefore the earliest-born validated person to have survived to the year 2000.
On 21 October 2000, she surpassed the age of Maggie Barnes to become the 7th-oldest validated person ever.
On 2 November 2000, she became the last survivor born before 1886 after the death of Eva Morris from the United Kingdom (born in 1885).
Ella Miller died just 15 days before her 116th birthday, on 21 November 2000 at the age of 115 years, 351 days. She had been the oldest living person in the world for 327 days. She is the oldest person to die in the year 2000. She's also the third-oldest person born in the Tennessee (behind Elizabeth Bolden and Besse Cooper), and she is the oldest person to die in Virginia. At the time of her death she was the 7th-oldest validated person ever (behind Jeanne Calment, Sarah Knauss, Marie-Louise Meilleur, Delphia Welford, Tane Ikai and Easter Wiggins). Miller is now the 33rd-oldest validated person ever. She is also the oldest person to die at 115. After her death, Maud Farris-Luse became the oldest living person in the United States, and Marie Bremont of France aged 114 years, 210 days became the oldest living person in the world.
