Elza Brandeisz (18 September 1907 – 6 January 2018) was an Hungarian supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography[]

Elza Brandeisz was born in Budapest, Austria-Hungary (now Hungary) on 18 September 1907. During World War II, she saved the life of then-young George Soros, famous investor, business magnate, philanthropist, and author. For her bravery during the Holocaust, Elza Brandeisz was later honored with the Righteous Among the Nations Order.

Elza Brandeisz died in Sopron, Hungary on 6 January 2018 at the age of 110 years, 110 days. She was the second-oldest person in Hungary, at the time of her death, behind Janosne Belik, who was one day older.
